Dear Parents and Students,
I will be using a program called Remind this school year with my classes. It is set up for teachers to remind students (and parents) about homework assignments, projects, quizzes or test. The service is free, depending on your cellular service text messaging rates (meaning standard text messaging rates apply). It will strictly be used for my classroom only.
All you must do to subscribe is send a text message to #81010 and the class code is @kahafe. If you cannot text, email is an option. Email [email protected]. The subject line can be left blank. Then throughout the rest of the year, I will be sending reminders to make sure the students are staying on top of school work in my class. Parents are more than welcome to join as well. If life gets too busy and I forget to send a reminder – it does not excuse the student from the assignment or taking a quiz/test. The expectation is for students to still use their planner.
I know some of you may worry about security. I will never see your child’s phone number or your phone number if you choose to participate, nor will anyone else who signs up. Also, you will not receive advertisement text. You may choose to opt out at any time by messaging ‘stop’ to the above number. The website to answer any questions you may have is: https://www.remind.com
